The big picture: Update 8th May 2006

Some more progress. Rather than going to DVR,I stayed back last Sunday to work on my railways. I made three more points, made about 9 "half tracks" and laid 3 lengths of rail. Two points were installed, the crossover at the end of the station. At the spline end I'm preparing to insall the curved points (made two peco facsimilies) so I can get that end done. I'm about to run the mainline on the spline, the line I forst did is the loop line.

No more train running, still trying to resiste the urge !

Also started two "up ramps" - the mainline throught this town is on a raised wooden former, and to get down ot the grungy yard I have jig sawed two ramps up, justneeding to wedge a material under and screw it to make the ramp end flush with the mainline. One more to do.

I do have to start thinking about the backscenes, and the base scenery materials. The back scene base so I can get it in without and damage to the scenery base, not to menition the access as it is now to do it. Then the base sceery material to help stop trains falling to the real floor - crucial to have a train running safely.

Discussions up at the club last night got me thinking of using some canite sheet, I were going to use foam. But the memebr is someone to listen to and his scenery is GOOD. My thinking is it is a good light material, easily carved/sanded. I will still be using Foam as needed. My base scenrey is not mountains, it is slopes and gentle open land. This area does have a river to cater for, but this has me thinking.

The diagram on the left shows progress. And a few photos as well.......
