The big picture: Update 30th December 2005

Hope the Christmas went well, this is now my last post of the year. Been a while hasn't it! Alot has happened since I last posted progress.
  • DCC is now in my house. I now have a NCE system. At the moment I have two radio procabs and the PC, which by using Decoder Prop I have a third throttle. Already I took my radio system to a friend's NCE system and it worked on his layout as well.
  • I have my #7 point jig thanks to Fasttracks (www.handlaidtrack.com) - no point completed yet, but I'm delighted with it.
  • I now have a terminal station - almost complete now sitting in my garage. Named Henty it was the main staion o the old EMRC clubrooms before we had to vacate the property. Rather than using the old staion, which we didn't know if they would transport, the club gave them away to members to give them a head start.

FOr me that means the garage will have a branch sooner than I imagined, for I always wanter to extend into there eventually. I did consider having the staion grafted into my present layout in the house, but being a terminal staion it was hard to juggle, and also hard to modify into a through station, and keep the long loop I wanted.

I'll have to get it onto legs and set up in the garage. The main issue is it will have to be high so it can attach to the upper level. Si will be high in the garage.
  • Yes the toilet is gone and the waste hole is to be blocked.
  • The actual layout, well the4 spline has now reached the top staion. I have been pleased with spline so far, and pleased two stations are now joined. See plan7 for a rough idea - Station H to Staion "i" is the long splined section.

The benchwork above the former toilet is now in place, and the frames on that lower level "D" area is roughly done.

Meanwhile the lower station in the main room (station C on plan 7) has seen me full size track plan on it and have drawn in the center lines for that station.

Have a safe 2006 ! I'l see about photos in January 2006 sometime.....
