The big picture: Update 26th March 2008

3 months in and I do my first update for the year. That is becase I have been busy with two different clubs with two different exhibitons. And well have been on other projects as well.

We have redone the areas as seen in the photos. I were going to first take the lower track along the existing fasia here, then I decided to put in a tunnel. Now that has been 'daylighted'. this is of course better as It is one less tunnel and hidden aread to get into trouble with.

This 'daylighting' allowed us to put in a lower basebaord to allow for another water and decent bridge scene. We put in the main supports a month ago, Roger and I put in the backscene lower extension in as well on another occasion.

Basically work has started on the long climb from the lower level up to the top level. We are working on the approach to the lower station in the main room. This station is a junction, down to the staging as a continuous loop, the other up all the way around the room to come out where the upper station exists now.

Roger Lloyd, my main regular and chief "get me doing something in this lifetime" came over last night as more work has happened. We started a spline to head up, and also oput in temp riders to hold the spline level. I'll make the spline then raise it to the gradiant I need.

We had used a neat laser level of Roger's to check a few heights, the chief one being the track has to get from this lower staion up and through the middle brick hole around the room, where the railway goes into the sun room. We worked out it will be tight and will be a 1:45 grade all the way.
