"Still Slow !" Well A possum or rat took out my house lighting over 2 months ago. And I'm still a cheapsake and haven't got a sparkie in yet. At the moment I have lampstands and floodlights all over. That is also a partial excuse, as I have has two working bees since. The first working bee was good. Mark and Trevor installed several of my manual point motor mechs, as inspaired by Joe Fugate's door latch mechanisms. Mark had no idea when he took them on at the start and easily mastered them by the end. Trevor also helped Graham put in the top peninsular round end. Graham then proceeded to put on a initial blue paint undercoat on the top level backscene up to this new divider. It looks good indeed. As usual these working bees made me do soem of the lower level painting as well as some point motor installs. Me thinks Graham's painting is well better than mine. Lucky it is a first coat. The blue had indeed lifted the look. You can clearly see ion one photo I painted a concrete column as well , blue, as I hope it will blend in a bit, as I'll also paint ont he facis colour as well. Another working bee one Wednesday saw Charles and BRendan from EMRC turn up. Charles put in a lot of effort in sanding many of the backscene joins. Brendan did soem puttying and point repars so I could get another point throw mech in place. Recently I too have been down there thinking I better take a photo or two to show progress. So more point motor throws were made and at the moment I have to do more, as the throwbars on the points broke or are not there.... I also made a crude 3V DC motor directly coupled to a screw and nut mech. Not well made it binded and was not strong enough. Back to the drawingboard for the electric motors required. Here's some photos as of 22 September 2007 |
