Had another workingbee last Wednesday.
Chris, Roger, Glenn & Doug turned up. Chris made some halftrack, while Doug and Glenn did balsa gluing duties. Roger went straight to the "unsunroom". For I have painted the room's windows with paint on the inside, except for the door which will remain in it's traditional letting the light in role. I had also bought foam rubber that has an adhesive side, which Roger and myslef cut out to fit onto the window panes - adding a small insulation factor and blocking any remaining light through the paint. After putting up all the rubber I had bought. We then got onto building another support frame. This frame is free standing and is not structural and is only there to hold up the layout. As staed before I'm keepinmg the door, and while it will not be needed for running the layout, it wil be avialable for exiting oand construction. The lower and upper level will have a hinge or removable section across the 'gap. The upper stageing level will be fixed. |

| On the left is some half track made. On the right is some of the balsa sleepering in progress. | ||
|
The framework across the window is in two parts, as I have to leave a cavity for the sliding door. See the photos below. |
||
| Prior to the working bee I had been making points, mainly three curved points as shown below. Two were not built to a template, just basing the inner radius on 36 inches. the third curved point was built after making a paper template of the roadbed the leads onto the spline. I then made the point to suit. |

I got it locally from this website, a local Australian importer who offers RTR and kits. http://cmri.mcnaircomputerservices.com.au/ As you can see the manuals are huge (but cover other CMRI stuff as well) so I have a lot to learn and read. So far I ahve bought a power supply and that's about it. I'll report any progress on it 'later. |
