The big picture:
Update 16th April 2008

Had our second "sceduled" working bee last Wednesday. Three hardy souls turned up, all regular visitors to my establishment for the purpose of helping me along. Somehow I think they really want to put the boot in and get progress going faster than I do......

Since I'm not using my NCE system, I should be arranging their upgrade to the new radio patch that improves their performance. I do have another friday night working bee on 9th May, so progress will continue. With the spline I generally will go down, glue one length in place every day. This means the spline gradually is being done between sessions at the moment.

Charles, apart from knocking his head made quick work of some sleeper cutting to length and gluing down.

Chris worked in the sun room marking up the cuts of cork sheet I had, preparing them for strips for the lower station in the main room.

Roger was also busy sealing in the "daylighted area on that concrete foundation. We have also spent some time to see how far down I had to go, and found out I have come down enough already.

Apart from helping Roger and checking up every minute on Charles & Chris, who always stopped to talk - and I had to make sure they continued to do that !!! I started a spline on the lower station (in the main room), by cutting a starting slot. This will curve around the lower peninsular to the main scenic feature of the large bridge.

Roger & myself added two more spline strips to the approach to the top most station. I wanted to tighten the 42 inch radius curve here to come into the station at a lesser angle.

We (Roger and myself) also glued another spline into place on the lower level, on the continuous branch.

Things are getting to a point I really have to clean out the sun room. Drats, all that cleaning to do !
